The more it keeps popping up on Facebook and stuff, the more pissed off I get. So I feel the need to say something.
That whole "Miley Cyrus performance at the VMAs" thing? A friend of mine showed me that video about a week ago.
It was so obviously, deliberately designed to make people talk about it on the internet (nothing more, nothing less) that I am disgusted, angry and saddened that so many people, including intelligent people who I love and respect, fell for it.
It was entirely calculated. There are no cultural implications behind it. There is nothing behind it. Not even shock value. It was just MTV really wanting some fucking attention. And you all gave them exactly what they wanted (and now I am, too).
I'm pissed that nobody else seems to have realized it.
